Show up in Search Engines with SEO and Drive more Traffic

You’ve probably heard before that having a website is crucial to having a successful business in today’s world. If not see why businesses need a website. However, simply having a website isn’t enough; you need to make sure potential customers can find it.

70% of American consumers use the Internet to find the products, services and businesses they’re looking for (www.pewinternet.org). Most consumers use search engines such as Google™, Yahoo, and Bing when searching online and click on search results within the first results page. Therefore, if you want to drive more business online and enable potential customers to find you, it’s crucial that your website has prominent placements in the major search engines.

One of the most successful ways to increase your websites placement in search engines is through Search Engine Optimization. Search Engine Optimization, or more commonly known as SEO, is the process of applying certain techniques to your website so they stand a better chance of ranking well in search engines.

SEO helps improve your website’s ranking in Organic Search Results , not paid results (also known as sponsored links or Google® Adwords). Most people searching for products and services in Google™ click on the organic results, so it’s important that your website ranks well.

Search engine optimization affects only organic search results,
not paid or "sponsored" results, such as Google AdWords

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is not just for big businesses; it’s a great way for small businesses to market themselves online for a low cost! Learn more about how to improve your website’s SEO ranking with our (Search Engine Optimization Guide for Small Business), or check out Vistaprint’s Search Engine Optimizer that will guide you through the process of optimizing your site.

I have notified some of my clients what my new web address is via e-mail but when they try to access it through the http://www.bigpond.com link it does not come up. There is a huge number of the population in Australia who have their internet and therefore e-mail through Bigpond. It would be a great help if we could open the access links to allow the Bigpond Engine to register that our address exists. The only other option I will have is to cancel from Vista and transfer to another company that will allow me to opperate the site in Australia as well as the U.S.A. etc.

Hi Nanette, Are you adding ".au" to the end of your link similar to the one you placed in the box when commenting on this post? As your domain is a ".com" your site url should be www.enjayartisticcreations.com instead of www.enjayartisticcreations.com.au. If you click on your name above your comment you will see that the link is also broken. I have sent and email to a personal Bigpond account to test it and it seems to be working. Please let me know if the above suggestion works. Thanks for letting us know of your issue. Samuel

Hi Samuel. My website is not about angelic love and guidance. It is my visual art business as I am a printmaker/painter. There is a huge difference. Google recognises and accepts the ".com.au" as well as my name so why not Bigpond? I gather from that, that the link should not be broken. I am paying for this and am not happy.

Nanette, I have had a look into this some more and it seems that it is an issue on the Bigpond side by not recognizing your link. However I want to ensure that you are using the ".com" and not the ".com.au" as the ".com.au" domain is not currently registered. Which means your domain is "http://www.enjayartisticcreations.com/" and not "http://www.enjayartisticcreations.com.au" if you try to click on both of these you will see that the ".com.au" domain doesn't work. Please let me know if this helps and if you have any questions. Thanks, Samuel

Hi Denishina - glad to help! If customers type in your web address in the URL - they should immediately be redirected to your website. If you're looking for assistance in getting your website to show up in search engines such as Google - that's a little bit of a different story. It can take around 2 weeks for a new website to get indexed in Google. Once you're indexed, there are a few things you can do to improve your listing. Check out our upcoming articles on Search Engine Optimization this week for tips on improving your listing in search engines. Or, check out our Search Engine Optimizer website tool to boost your ranking.

I'm worried because I am Vistaprint customer since 2008 and their service has always been excellent. I Love Vistaprint! But I am waiting since September 1 to use the edit website tool and does not give me access, just get a window with the following message: Our site is experiencing problems. We are sorry, we are currently experiencing Technical Difficulties. Please try again later. But the interesting thing is that happened right after I decided to add the service SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZER. I am desperate because it is urgent for me to add more products to the page ... could be just a coincidence? if you can help me thank you with my heart! of course! I'm on the expectation also can use this new service for my webpage because do not working too. Thanks.

Hi I have had my website through Vistaprint for over 2 years now and my site is still not ranking. I have found it on page 80 at times and sometimes can't even find it and it certainly has never been on page 1,2 or 3. i have had to piggy back my site onto another companies site and this has cost me a lot of money. i have been told that the templet used by vista is not spider friendly and will never get up into the top pages. all i can do with my website is add keywords thats all, so how do I SEO my site. Need Help Wayne

Why do most of my hits come from overseas and not the UK. What do I need to do stop this happening.
